this page describes the various Artist and media content requirements
music07 .com is currently seeking new Artists & Producers!!!
The goal of this site is to promote your music and make it available to as many people as possible all around the world ! By having a site open to everyone,
we plan to generate huge amounts of traffic to promote our music and services.
An Artist may feature their albums, songs, events and locations. Artists may update and add to their Artist site as time goes on...
Artists may also add other Artists to their albums creating a place where people can review the works of a grouping of Artists...
For example, artists that appear at a cafe, nightclub, open mic, label or event may be grouped and easily accessed by fans to get the latest music and happenings!

Becoming a music07 Artist / Producer
First, join using the join link on the top of the right column and then use the Join button on the signon page.
Once your registered and signed on, click your My Page notebook tab above.
Click your update user profile tab, at the bottom of the update profile page you will see the Become a music07 Artist button. Press that button and
begin building you music07 artist / producer site ! You will then see new tabs: My Page and
Artist's / Producers Home page. These pages allow you to manage your multimedia ( songs, videos, pictures, text, ...), public/ private albums, groups and subscriptions. You can also view how many times your stuff is being played by people with optional blogging and 5star rating.
Building and uploading your site
Media is updated in the database and uploaded via the Artist's / Producers Home page notebook tab. Artist may feature their songs, events and locations. Artists may add other Artists to their albums creating a place where friends, family and fans can review the latest music and happenings of an Artist group. You may publish this link in a news letter or other publication to your fans. People can also subscribe with optional mail list to artists, your albums and multimedia content (songs, videos, pix, text ...).
Songs
Songs are in a .mp3 format and less than 6MB.
A mp3 created at 128 bps with a running time of 5 minutes should be under the limit.
note1: .mp3 format my be created from CDs or wav file using encoding programs like CDex.
note2: It is recommended that you tag your MP3s to include artist & track information. This way people listening to you music in media players
like itunes, real player, win amp, MS media player and ... will display this information.
There are a number of tagging programs including 123Tag, mp3Tag, nero and the media players.
note3: Due to the size of MP3s, it is recommended that you use a high speed broadband connection for the uploads
Video
Videos are in a flash movie .flv format and less than 15 or 20MB.
A video created at a bit rate of 256 with a running time of 8 minutes should be under the limit. The FLV content is very hard to copy and is in use in sites like YouTube !
note1: We use Moyea flv convertor to convert my .mpg (these are huge files) to the compressed FLV format.
note2: Due to the size of FLVs, it is recommended that you use a high speed broadband connection for the uploads
Pictures
Pictures are in a .jpg or .gif format and less than 200 px wide and less than 150KB in size.
Pictures are associated to Artists, songs, events and locations. Pictures should be less than 500 px wide so that they fit on the browser pages in both 800x640 resolutions and higher.
Note1: Pictures should be as clear as possible since they may also be used and reduced for news and featured spots on the site.
Note2: Pictures from a digital camera are very large in size but may be reduced in size without losing much clarity using programs like WinSofMagic Advanced JPEG compressor, photoshop and many others ...
Text
Text is used around the site for just about all other info including Album, Song, Artist, Event and location profiles.
Text may contain certain html including ( <a></a> - links, <strong></strong> - bold text,<em> </em>- emphasis; and <br /> - line break )
note: html must be valid in order to work:

note3: custom colors and fonts are not allowed at this time since we are trying to establish a global site branding & style and "look and feel" for the entire site.
Albums / Work flow
Public and private Multimedia Albums may be created with optional blogging and 5star rating
Also, you can invite other artists to join your groups and they can release content for your albums. Private albums using these features can be used for artists to colleberate on albums, songs or videos.
You can set up public/private demo albums for different audiences very quickly ounce you upload your multi media.

Comments about media
You will need to test your song, artist, album and event pages to verify the formatting of your pages !
We test our pages using firefox, mozilla, ms ie and opera in 1024x760 and 800x600. We also support print media types and access by other devices and browsers.
We also recommend spell checking !
Subscriptions
The web site manager role
As you are aware many artists have CDs of good music or DVDs but no real skill or desire to crop photos, rip mp3s or render flash video. Music07 has made this process a whole lot easier ! This release may also extend and speeds up the role of the producer putting together content from many artists into albums or event albums with RSVPs. The artist/producer still controls their own content and its publishing on the internet yet can partner with a website manager to handle the day to day operations and updating multi-media of their site. If your interested in this service, contact support with the name of the artists and website manager (they all need to be registered on music07 first). We will verify this arrangement and get the connections setup. Once setup, the website manager has a control panel of artists websites that they maintain.
The accessibility
You can give people a direct link to your Artist page Myspace style like this: <a href="http://www.music07.com/your user name or artist name or album name">check out my music07 site by clicking here</a> like this --> check out my music07 site by clicking here Albums, users and artist / Producers can all be accessed via the 'MySpace' style address using your user name, artist name or album name.
You may also give people links to your songs, events, features, etc. by using browser's edit/cut command to copy the address line and paste it back into an eMail, publication, web link or whatever !
The Cost to Artists & producers
If you have over 2 albums, 5 songs or videos, 10 pictures or require further production or promotional support. You may want to consider a higher rate plan.
